Hindu Temple in California Vandalized with Hate Message, Second Attack in 10 Days
In yet another disturbing incident, a Hindu temple in Sacramento, California, was defaced with a hate-filled message on Wednesday night. This attack comes just 10 days after a similar desecration of the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in New York on September 17. The temple, which is a place of worship for the local Hindu community, was marked with offensive graffiti, causing deep concern among community members.
The congregation responded by holding prayers for peace and unity, drawing inspiration from the teachings of His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj, who has consistently advocated for harmony and respect across communities.
Local authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, treating it as a hate crime. Community leaders have called for enhanced security around religious institutions to prevent further acts of violence.
Prominent politicians, including Congressman Ro Khanna, have voiced their concern over the increasing frequency of such incidents, urging the Department of Justice to act swiftly and ensure that justice is served. “These acts of hatred must be condemned in the strongest terms. It’s crucial that our religious institutions are safeguarded, and those responsible face the full force of the law,” Khanna said in a statement.
