Union External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has stated that there was no decisive response from India following the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. Speaking at a press conference in Mumbai, Jaishankar emphasized that the lack of retaliation at the time would not be repeated if such an incident were to occur again.
“We should not have a repeat of what happened in Mumbai. That there was a terror attack and there was no response,” Jaishankar said. He added that India now stands strong in its fight against terrorism and has emerged as a global leader in counter-terrorism efforts.
Jaishankar’s remarks come as India continues to enhance its national security and counter-terrorism capabilities. His comments reflect a shift in India’s approach towards terrorism, with a focus on ensuring that the country is prepared to respond robustly to any future threats.
The 26/11 Mumbai attacks, which occurred in 2008, left a lasting impact on the nation, with terrorists targeting multiple locations across the city, leading to the deaths of 166 people and hundreds injured.
This latest statement from the External Affairs Minister underscores the government’s commitment to safeguarding the country from future acts of terror and ensuring a strong and decisive response if needed.
