Kharge Accuses PM Modi of “Lies, Deceit & Fakery” Over Unkept Promises
In a sharp response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent remarks, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge launched a scathing attack on the BJP-led government, accusing it of indulging in “lies, deceit, and fakery” regarding unfulfilled promises.
Kharge criticized the BJP’s 100-day plan, calling it a “publicity stunt” lacking substance. He questioned several of the government’s promises, including its commitment to creating 2 crore jobs annually and controlling rising prices. The Congress chief also highlighted economic challenges like unemployment, high inflation, and growing inequality, accusing the BJP of financial mismanagement.
Kharge raised concerns about the government’s policies and questioned the authenticity of its initiatives, particularly on employment, inflation, and infrastructure. He pointed out failures in areas like Make in India and highlighted alleged shortcomings in Modi’s leadership, such as the collapse of projects like the Morbi bridge and Atal Setu.
In response to PM Modi’s criticism of Congress for making “fake promises,” Kharge stated that the Prime Minister’s guarantees are a “cruel joke on 140 crore Indians.” He urged the public to scrutinize the BJP’s claims and hold the party accountable for failing to deliver on its promises.
Prime Minister Modi, in an earlier statement, had attacked Congress for making “unreal” promises, warning citizens about the party’s “fake politics” and alleging that Congress-ruled states were facing fiscal crises due to their unfulfilled guarantees.
