Canada Labour Minister Seeks Industrial Relations Board Intervention in Canada Post Dispute
Amid an ongoing contract dispute at Canada Post, Labour Minister Seamus O’Regan has called on the Canada Industrial Relations Board to step in and help resolve the issue. The move highlights the government’s push to restore normalcy to the country’s postal services.
According to Public Services and Procurement Minister Jean-Yves Duclos, discussions are underway, and the government is committed to ensuring a fair resolution for all parties involved.
Liberal MP Chris MacKinnon expressed optimism, stating that he expects Canada Post services to resume as early as next week. “We are confident in the process and hope for a quick resolution that benefits both workers and the public,” MacKinnon added.
The ongoing dispute has caused delays in mail delivery, impacting businesses and households across Canada. Stakeholders are now looking to the Industrial Relations Board to mediate and find a balanced solution.
Further updates on the negotiations and potential service resumption are expected in the coming days.
