BPSC Protests: Prashant Kishor Granted Bail Hours After Arrest During Hunger Strike
Patna: Political strategist-turned-activist Prashant Kishor was granted bail on Friday, hours after his arrest during a hunger strike in support of Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) aspirants. Kishor, who began fasting on January 2 under Mahatma Gandhi’s statue at Gandhi Maidan, was taken into custody earlier in the day.
The protest aims to demand the cancellation of the recent BPSC preliminary examination, which aspirants allege was marred by irregularities. Kishor’s hunger strike has drawn significant attention, highlighting the grievances of thousands of candidates.
Kishor was released without any conditions, and he vowed to continue supporting the aspirants’ cause. “This fight is for justice for the youth of Bihar,” he stated after his release.
The BPSC has yet to issue a formal response to the ongoing protests and demands.
