Guwahati: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has called upon insurgent groups in the Northeast to abandon violence and integrate into the mainstream, assuring them of a peaceful and prosperous future. Speaking at a public event, Shah emphasized the government’s commitment to resolving long-standing conflicts and bringing stability to the region.

He also announced that by 2027, all Northeastern states will be fully connected by air and rail, enhancing economic growth and accessibility. “The Northeast is on the path of development. The era of insurgency is ending, and I appeal to all those still holding arms to join the mainstream and contribute to nation-building,” Shah stated.

His remarks come as the government continues its efforts to broker peace agreements with various insurgent groups, aiming to foster long-term stability and progress in the region.
