New Delhi: After making significant efforts to engage with Pasmanda Muslims, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is now expanding its outreach to the Sufi community, signaling a broader attempt to connect with different Muslim groups ahead of key elections.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has repeatedly emphasized India’s rich Sufi heritage, positioning it as a counter to radical ideologies. BJP leaders have been reaching out to Sufi scholars, clerics, and dargah committees, highlighting their contributions to India’s cultural and spiritual fabric.
The move comes as part of the party’s larger strategy to expand its appeal among Muslim voters, particularly those who align with Sufi traditions.
