Srinagar, J&K – Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has cautioned against attempts to politicize the recent deaths in Kathua, as the tragic incident continues to stir debate across the region.

Speaking during the ongoing Assembly session on Monday, Abdullah expressed deep concern over the incident and extended his sympathies to the bereaved families. He urged political parties to focus on ensuring justice and accountability rather than using the tragedy for political gains.

“This is a moment of grief, and our priority should be to support the affected families rather than turning this into a political issue,” Abdullah stated.

The incident has sparked a heated political row, with parties trading blame over governance and safety concerns in the region. Opposition leaders have demanded an investigation, while the ruling administration has assured a thorough probe into the matter.

As tensions rise, Abdullah’s remarks highlight the need for a united approach in addressing the tragedy and preventing further communal or political divisions.
