New Delhi – May 21, 2025:
India has expelled another official from the Pakistan High Commission, marking the second such expulsion within a week. The diplomat was declared persona non grata and asked to leave the country within 24 hours.
According to official sources, the expulsion was based on credible intelligence suggesting the official was involved in activities inconsistent with diplomatic norms — a phrase commonly associated with espionage. This action follows a similar expulsion just days earlier, signaling escalating diplomatic tensions between the two neighboring countries.
The Indian government has stepped up scrutiny of foreign diplomatic staff following recent security threats and internal investigations. The latest move is being viewed as part of a broader national security response to external interference.
Officials stated that India remains committed to maintaining diplomatic relations but will act firmly against any activity that threatens its sovereignty and internal security. The Pakistan High Commission has yet to issue a formal response, but the development is expected to further strain already tense bilateral ties.
