Tata Advanced Systems and Dassault Sign Agreements to Set Up Manufacturing Unit in Hyderabad
In a major boost to India’s defence manufacturing sector, Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) and French aerospace giant Dassault Aviation have signed agreements to produce Rafale fighter jet fuselages in India. The new facility will be established in Hyderabad and is expected to start production by 2028.
This partnership marks a significant step in strengthening India’s defence self-reliance under the ‘Make in India’ initiative. The manufacturing unit will be dedicated to building complete fuselage assemblies for the Rafale fighter aircraft, bringing advanced aerospace technology and high-skill employment opportunities to the country.
The decision to localize the production of Rafale components comes after India’s procurement of Rafale jets for its Air Force. With this move, India joins a select group of countries capable of assembling critical fighter jet structures on their own soil.
The Hyderabad facility is expected to become a key part of Dassault’s global supply chain, further reinforcing the strategic partnership between India and France in the field of defence and aviation.
