Toronto Man Arrested for Alleged Sexual Assault in Library Washroom
Toronto, June 14, 2024 – Toronto police have arrested a man accused of sexually assaulting a woman in a public washroom at the Barbara Frum Public Library, located near Lawrence Avenue West and Bathurst Street. The arrest follows a series of disturbing incidents involving the same suspect.
The accused, Arnold Edzodzomo, 29, was taken into custody on June 12. According to police reports, between April 28 and May 9, Edzodzomo allegedly approached a woman several times at Earl Bales Park, engaging her in conversation and following her on the walking trails. On multiple occasions, he reportedly waited outside a public washroom, continuing to follow and chase the woman. The victim and the suspect were not known to each other.
The latest incident occurred on June 12, when Edzodzomo allegedly followed a woman into the public washroom at the Barbara Frum Public Library and sexually assaulted her. A staff member at the library was able to assist the woman and take her to safety. The suspect fled the scene before police arrived.
Later that day, police arrested Edzodzomo and charged him with criminal harassment and sexual assault. Authorities believe there may be more victims and have released a photo of the suspect to aid in the investigation.
