Kyiv, Ukraine – Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau arrived in Ukraine to mark the third anniversary of Russia’s invasion, reaffirming Canada’s unwavering support for the war-torn nation. His visit comes at a critical time, less than a week after former U.S. President Donald Trump publicly criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, raising concerns about future U.S. support for Kyiv.
Trudeau was welcomed in Kyiv by top Ukrainian officials, including Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha and President Zelenskyy’s chief of staff, Andrii Yermak. During his visit, Trudeau is expected to discuss military and financial aid, as well as Canada’s commitment to Ukraine’s post-war reconstruction efforts.
“Canada stands firmly with Ukraine. We will continue to support its fight for sovereignty and democracy,” Trudeau said upon his arrival.
