New Delhi, May 19 — National Security Advisor Vikram Misri informed a parliamentary panel that the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan remain confined to the conventional military domain, with no signs of nuclear escalation.
Briefing members during a recent closed-door session, Misri emphasized that while cross-border hostilities and ceasefire violations persist, there has been no indication of nuclear posturing or strategic signalling from either side.
The update comes amid heightened security concerns along the Line of Control and increased militant activity in certain regions. Misri assured the panel that the Indian armed forces are fully prepared to handle any challenge and that the situation is being closely monitored.
The remarks are seen as an attempt to dispel public anxiety over the possibility of a larger conflict, underscoring the government’s stance that current tensions, while serious, do not point toward a nuclear flashpoint.
