Most of us must have experienced a last minute either a no show or some lazy excuse call not to attend a meeting or even sometimes a get together and sometimes even a good dinner on a rainy day specially if people invited have to commute by public transport.

It was a pleasant surprise with Katherine Hauser a Councillor with city of Guelph, Ontario Canada with whom an official meeting was set up for a Friday evening to personally show her site for which an issue I was facing. That day was crazy with pouring rain and my expectations of her attending were next to nil.

To my surprise, the Councillor was at my door dot at time and blew me off informing me after meeting she commuted by a bus, whose service frequency I am aware is low.

Katherine Hauser was initially elected in ward 6 Guelph as a school trustee, but later Is now a councilor for ward 6.

I have had close interactions with all levels of politicians in Canada and India but have not yet come across such a Councillor.

The Councillor has set up an example of an impeccable public service and we hope other politicians follow.

Incidentally, just today our partners covered a news about Katie, newly elected Mayor of Seattle, who also does not own a car.
