Secret Service agents quickly confronted the suspect, who escaped in a black Nissan after shots were fired. The incident took place around 400-500 yards from the former President. Trump, unharmed, praised the “outstanding” efforts of the Secret Service and local law enforcement for ensuring his safety.
The incident follows a previous assassination attempt in July, during which a bullet grazed Trump’s ear at a rally in Pennsylvania. Investigations into both attacks are ongoing.l
