An Ontario family has filed a $2 million lawsuit against a man accused of selling toxic substances that allegedly contributed to the death of their teenage daughter. Maria and Leonardo Lopez, parents of 18-year-old Jeshennia Bedoya Lopez, are suing Kenneth Law, who is facing criminal charges for abetting suicide in multiple cases. Law allegedly operated an online store selling harmful chemicals to vulnerable individuals.
The lawsuit claims that Jeshennia, during a mental health crisis, purchased a so-called “suicide kit” from Law’s website in 2022, which included a poisonous substance she later ingested. In addition to suing Law, Jeshennia’s family is also pursuing legal action against several doctors and a hospital, alleging they failed to provide appropriate care after Jeshennia reported struggles with her mental health in 2020 and 2022.
Kenneth Law has been linked to multiple deaths worldwide, including cases in Canada, the U.K., and the U.S., where individuals are believed to have used his products to end their lives. Law faces 14 charges of first-degree murder and assisting suicide, with a criminal trial expected to begin in 2025.
Jeshennia’s family is seeking justice for her death and hopes that those responsible will be held fully accountable. The lawsuit underscores the ongoing concerns over Law’s alleged role in distributing dangerous substances and the tragic consequences that have followed.
