24 Indian Airline Flights Hit by Bomb Threats, Prompting Major Security Measures

On Sunday, a total of 24 flights operated by Indian airlines, including IndiGo, Vistara, Air India, and Akasa Air, were disrupted due to bomb threats. Both domestic and international routes were affected, with flights such as IndiGo’s Jeddah to Mumbai, Delhi to Istanbul, and Vistara’s Delhi to Frankfurt, Bali to Delhi, among others, receiving threats.

Airlines immediately notified authorities and implemented emergency procedures, prioritizing passenger and crew safety. Thorough security inspections were conducted on all impacted flights before they were cleared for operation.

This latest wave of threats adds to the over 90 bomb threats reported this week, many of which have been hoaxes. In response, the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) held emergency meetings with airline representatives, assuring the public that the skies remain safe. Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Asangba Chuba, emphasized that the government is working on finding solid solutions to address these incidents.

With civil aviation authorities treating the situation seriously, officials have vowed to take strict action against those responsible for these threats, which have caused significant disruptions in air travel across India.
