Trump Announces Tom Homan as ‘Border Czar’ for Upcoming Administration
President-elect Donald Trump has named Tom Homan, the former Acting Director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), as the new “border czar” in his forthcoming administration. Trump made the announcement on his social media platform, Truth Social, on Sunday night, expressing confidence in Homan’s ability to manage the U.S. borders effectively.
Homan will oversee the country’s northern and southern borders, along with responsibilities for maritime and aviation security. A key part of his role will also include handling the deportation of illegal immigrants, which remains central to Trump’s immigration policy.
Homan, a known advocate for strong border control, was widely expected to return in this capacity after having served under Trump during his first term. Trump voiced his confidence in Homan, stating that he will deliver on this “long awaited” role.
This announcement comes as Trump gears up for his second term, signaling a continued hardline stance on immigration enforcement.
