Prime Minister Narendra Modi continued his diplomatic outreach in Latin America with back-to-back bilateral meetings with the Presidents of Bolivia and Uruguay, aimed at deepening India’s engagement with the region.
In his meeting with the President of Bolivia, both leaders discussed opportunities in the fields of lithium mining, pharmaceuticals, and clean energy. With Bolivia holding some of the world’s largest lithium reserves, talks also touched on potential collaborations in battery technology and sustainable mining practices.
Later, Modi held wide-ranging talks with the President of Uruguay, focusing on expanding trade ties, boosting agricultural cooperation, and enhancing connectivity between Indian and Latin American markets. Cultural exchange and digital innovation were also key points of discussion, with both leaders agreeing to explore partnerships in fintech and education.
These engagements mark India’s continued emphasis on South-South cooperation, with Modi reaffirming India’s commitment to being a reliable partner for development, technology sharing, and mutual growth.
The meetings come as part of Modi’s broader multi-nation tour aimed at forging stronger diplomatic and economic ties across continents, positioning India as a key player in global South alliances.
