Kyiv: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called on Western allies to take a firm and transparent stance on security guarantees for Ukraine as the country continues to defend itself against Russian aggression.

Speaking at a recent gathering, Zelenskyy emphasized the need for concrete commitments from international partners, stating, “We need a clear position. Our people, our soldiers, and our nation deserve to know what kind of support we can rely on.”

Ukraine has been pushing for long-term security assurances from NATO and its allies, particularly in terms of military aid, intelligence sharing, and strategic defense partnerships. While Western nations have provided significant support, Zelenskyy is seeking binding commitments to ensure Ukraine’s stability and security in the long run.

His remarks come amid ongoing battles in eastern Ukraine, with Kyiv urging quicker delivery of promised aid. The call for stronger guarantees also aligns with Ukraine’s bid for NATO membership, which remains a point of debate among alliance members.

Western leaders have acknowledged Ukraine’s concerns but have yet to outline a definitive framework for long-term security commitments. Meanwhile, Zelenskyy continues to rally international support, stressing that Ukraine’s fight is crucial for the broader security of Europe.
