Kyiv, Ukraine – Ukraine woke up to another night of terror as Russia unleashed a large-scale missile and drone strike across multiple regions, killing at least three people and wounding dozens more.

The attack, carried out in the early hours, targeted both residential areas and critical infrastructure. Sirens wailed across Kyiv, Kharkiv, and several other cities as explosions shook buildings and sent families rushing into underground shelters. Local officials described the bombardment as one of the most intense in recent weeks, with dozens of missiles and Iranian-made drones fired almost simultaneously.

In Kharkiv, a residential block was reduced to rubble after a missile strike tore through the neighborhood, killing two people instantly. Rescue workers spent hours pulling survivors from the debris, many of them badly injured. “We heard the whistle and then everything collapsed,” said Oleksandr, a resident who managed to escape with his daughter. “It was like the whole house was breathing dust and fire.”

In Kyiv, air defense systems intercepted the majority of incoming missiles, but falling debris injured more than a dozen people, damaged cars, and shattered windows in several districts. Authorities confirmed that a third victim died in Zaporizhzhia after a drone strike ignited a fire at an industrial site.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the attack, calling it another “act of terror designed to break the spirit of our people.” He added that Ukraine’s Western allies must step up support with more air defense systems to counter the growing threat.

The Russian Ministry of Defense has not commented on the latest strikes, but analysts say the coordinated assault is part of Moscow’s winter campaign to cripple Ukraine’s energy grid and demoralize civilians ahead of the colder months.

For millions of Ukrainians, the bombardment is a grim reminder that the war is far from over. Streets once bustling with evening life now fall silent after dark, as residents live with the constant fear that the next explosion could strike their homes.
