Islamabad, March 11: In a shocking development, militants have hijacked a train in Pakistan’s Balochistan province, taking more than 400 passengers hostage. The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for the attack, further escalating tensions in the region.

According to reports, the train was traveling through a remote area when armed militants intercepted it, forcing the train to stop. Passengers, including women and children, are currently being held hostage, with security forces rushing to the scene.

The BLA, a separatist group active in Balochistan, has been involved in several attacks against Pakistani security forces in the past. This hijacking marks one of their most daring assaults in recent times.

Authorities have launched a high-level security operation to rescue the hostages. Meanwhile, the situation remains tense as negotiations with the militants are reportedly underway.

More updates are awaited as the crisis unfolds.
